Twenty-one chapters of the theological Gospel — the one that starts before Genesis. JOHN doesn't open with a genealogy or a birth narrative; he opens with the eternal Word who was with God and was God. This Gospel is built around seven signs (miracles) and seven 'I AM' statements, each one a claim to deity that would get you killed in first-century Jerusalem. Jesus turns water to wine, raises LAZARUS, and washes feet. The upper room discourse (chapters 13-17) is the most intimate briefing in Scripture. John's stated purpose: 'that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.' No ambiguity in the mission objective.

John 1:29 — 'Behold, ὁ ἀμνὸς τοῦ θεοῦ, who takes away the sin of the world!' John the Baptist makes the ID on contact — connecting every sacrifice from Abel's flock to the Passover to the Day of Atonement to one person standing on a riverbank. The entire sacrificial system was a queue. It just reached the front.
